Once, there lived a man named Riley-Jay Ward, whose named after his own father who has passed away a long time ago. Riley-Jay or RJ, as some people call him, always puts a smile on people’s faces and doesn’t want anyone to be sad.

In the town of Ascot where RJ and his mom lived, is a very small town yet many people seem to live there. In Ascot has a lot of houses and has buildings in their area, that’s why it has limited space and it is very crowded in this town.

In Ascot has many houses and buildings yet there is one abandoned building that has been suspicious for a long time now and no one has ever gone in it because rumors spread that the building is cursed and if you go in it you can never come back outside ever again.

RJ just knew about the building and became curious about it. He wanted to see the surroundings of the building so he went and explored. He saw nothing but shattered windows outside. He peeked in one window and saw that the floors were black, which seemed to be burnt. He went back to his house and acted like he saw nothing.

Going home he noticed that he never really knew the cause of his father’s death. When RJ arrived home he asked his mom what the cause of his father’s death was but his mom didn’t really answer the question. She nodded and ignored the question.

A few weeks passed by. It was raining hard that day, RJ just finished school and he was about to go home while he was with his friend and neighbor, Marshall. RJ, with his crazy mind decided to go to the abandoned building and explore more further.

They were on their way to the building and while walking Marshall didn’t feel so good. He had a feeling he just wanted to turn back and just go home. But RJ still wanted to go and forced Marshall to still come. Marshall couldn’t do anything so they continued to go to the building. “Is this even safe?” Marshall asked. RJ just didn’t know what to say so he just nodded and kept walking.

They got to the building and went searching. They peeked and saw a hole through the roof. Marshall knew about the rumor but he also knew something else. “Did you know that there was someone who tried to go in here?” Marshall asked. RJ was in shock and said, “What?!”. He couldn’t speak because of his nervousness and shock. He really thought it was just a rumor, but it comes out true.

RJ panicked and wanted to go home. Marshall was relieved that they could go home already.

While walking away from home came a huge struck of lighting and struck the inside of the building, so it was really bright and the two friends panicked and ran. Fortunately the building could not be destroyed in anyway so RJ and Marshall were kind of safe.

Both of them are already in RJ’s house and asked his mom something, “Mom! Did you know anything about an abandoned building in Ascot?!” RJ shouted out of panic. His mom answered back, “Why?! What did you do this time?!”. RJ told everything and was very nervous. His mom got mad because they weren’t safe and shouted, “You can never come back to that abandoned place! Don’t ever return!”. It seemed like RJ’s mom knew something about the building but never said anything.

After everything that has happened, RJ finally got to rest. He was about to sleep when suddenly his mom comes in his room, which doesn’t happen often. “Maybe its time you should know about your father’s death.” his mom stated.

RJ woke up and sat and started listening. “When this happened you were still a little kid and you where in your grandmother’s. Okay?” his mom said. “Okay.” he replied. “Did you know about the man who came in the building and never came back? Well, that wasn’t your father, but was his best friend. He didn’t want to lose his best friend because they had they’re backs all the time. And your father was a great man. It was raining hard that day too. Your father noticed that his best friend hadn’t been visiting him or talking to him since he told your father he was going to explore the building. Your father didn’t come because he had a lot of work to do. And now that he was done with all his work he had the time to go to the building. When he arrived he couldn’t find his best friend so he went in the building but still couldn’t find his best friend. He decides to shout and until he see or hears a reply, but nothing responds. He also couldn’t see his best friend anywhere around the village and he couldn’t contact him because his best friend doesn’t answer. As he goes back to the building, I was with him. I was scared to go in so I stayed outside. While it was raining hard, your father noticed a hole on the roof of the building. He went under the hole and since it was raining hard I couldn’t see much. But what I did see is a big, huge, struck of lightning inside the building where your father was, when the lightning happened I couldn’t do anything but ran back home. I was so worried I tried to call the police but the phone was not working because there was no signal. I tried to do everything I could but unfortunately I couldn’t do anything else. When the rain stopped, I immediately went to the building but no body was in there. I asked everyone in the village but no one knows where your father was. And the people who can see the building from where the lived said that no one has came out that building since then. After all those I was deeply hurt from your father’s loss.” His mother told the story sobbing.

After RJ knew he was deeply in shock an couldn’t move because of what he heard. He was questioning his mother about why she didn’t do anything else but her mother was really sorry.

Many weeks later and RJ still couldn’t move on from the story he had heard. He was very angry and sad at the same time, but was also curious on how his father had never returned. And because he was very curious and brave, he went back to check the building, but this time, he is going in.

He was with no one so that it would be less harmful for others. He didn’t care about himself when he came to the building, all he cares is that he still believes that his father is still there in the building.

He goes into the building, and shouts, “Hello! Is anybody in here?!” but no replies. He then explores the building further finding a jacket which looked familiar to him. He gets the jacket for other purposes and continues to explore.

RJ sees the hole on the roof then it starts to rain very hard. He stays inside because it was raining. And notices something shiny under the hole on the roof he didn’t care at all and just grabbed the thing and he gets rained on.

After seeing what it is, he has no idea. And suddenly the rain starts to get stronger and then a struck of lightning has hit RJ. Instead of getting burnt into ashes, RJ was shouting because he was almost blinded from the bright lightning that struck him. He was curious how he was still alive. Unexpectedly he sees the view of the building where he was. He notices that people were around him and that it was very crowded. He was scared and curious at the same time.

While walking to this new place he found, a random person walks up to him and asks him, “Do you know where you are?”. He was very confused so he decided to ask, “Not really, where am I?”. The person who walked up to him starred at him and smiled. And didn’t say a single word again.

While RJ was exploring where he was, he then began to see familiar faces. And many faces after he saw his grandparents and was in shock. He questioned himself and asked “Aren’t they dead already?”. After looking around he was surprised and in shock, he saw his father. He ran into him and hugged him really tight. And they smiled at each other. His father talks to RJ and says, “You’re in heaven. And the man that walked up to you earlier? That was God.” his father told him. So RJ began to find God because he wanted to talk to him.

He found God but God was the one who started the conversation. God asked RJ, “Would you rather go back down there with your mom or stay here where your father is?”. RJ asked God, “Could I take my mom here?”. God said “It’s either you live in heaven forever with your father or you stay in Earth and live with your mother.”. “I would rather stay with my mom so that I could still see her.” RJ said confidently. God said, “You have made your choice. You are a wise kid RJ. But let me tell you, you can not tell anyone about this place or else you will be sent back to heaven.” RJ had a big smile because he saw his father and God and when he was about to say something, “Oka-”, he was put to sleep and woke up on the building that was abandoned.

Waking up he was really joyful and very happy. He went back home like it was nothing. And his mom was really worried about him because he was gone for at least 7 hours.

RJ was told that he made a wise choice and that made him smile everyday. And everyday he made other people happy and he lived a good life happily.
